Voice mail does not download or show up

I get a notification there is a VM but when I open from the Icon there is no VM.

@2500: Have you tried dialing your networks voicemail number to access your inbox, as opposed to tapping on the notification? It may be notifying you of an old message in error, therefore I recommend clearing any existing messages from your voicemail  to see if this helps.

Direct dial to carrier does not work. Not getting notification from old message. I actually got a voice mail one and it worked, the reverted to previous bad behavior.
