Samsung Note 9 - Samsung Pay

Hi hoping someone can help. I've purchased a Samsung Note 9 in Spain and can't register my Santander UK bank card in the Samsung Pay App. It's the European Dual Sim version. I am still in Spain so it may be because I am trying to register the cards abroad, or will this not work going forward as the phone was not purchased in the UK? Google Pay is fine, just an issue with Samsung Pay.

Hi @Anonymous User

Unfortunately the issue is because the Samsung Phone you've purchased was intended to be used in the country it was released in.

For example I'm in the UK and was going to import a Samsung Note Fe phone but after research concluded that Samsung Pay wouldn't work.

You could attempt to try Android Pay.

If that fails too Then you won't be able to add a card.

Other options could be to install a Custom Rom although thstvmay not resolve the problem either.

Xdadevelopers is a good site to learn how to do this.

^ Attempting this process is at your own discretion

Or Sell / return the phone.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Hi @Anonymous User

As advised by @BandOfBrothers, Samsung Pay is compatible with banks in the region the phone was intended to be used in which is why you're having issues adding UK bank details in Spain. Try adding the cards when you're in the UK however if the issue continues then you might be limited to using Spanish bank details due to the model type.
