Does anybody know how the "Recommended For You" Max Heart Rate field is calculated in the Samsung Health App??

I noticed this field when I went to change my Max Heart Rate.

By default Samsung sets Max Heart Rate to 220- age = 167 (yes I'm 53)

I went to change it to 171 (Tanka calculation) but then noticed the "Recommended for you" field.

It took about 30 seconds for this field to refresh and it recommended 191bpm.... which is quite a difference.

The field takes about 30 seconds to refresh which suggests it is maybe looking at my Samsung Health data history (previous workouts, heart rate history, VO2 max history etc etc..)

Thanks!!

I'm not asking what heart rate I should set it to.

I'm asking how Samsung calculate this field

I'm not sure a doctor will know how Samsung populate this field.

I would say it's a mixture of age, gender and workout frequency.

There is a theory that it trawls your through your workouts and finds the highest heart rate.

It would be nice if Samsung could give us a definitive answer on how they calculate the field....
