Samsung Health Consent to the processing of health data

Hello,

Since a couple of days ago, when I open Samsung Health I am forced to either accept "Consent to the processing of health data", including to third parties and foreign countries, or Samsung will delete all my data. I don't mind sharing my data with Samsung, but not with third parties and possibly in foreign countries. There is no way I'm agreeing for my health data to be shared with and by third parties. Some of that data is very sensitive (when I sleep, what I eat, etc.). I bought a Samsung Watch 7 to use it with Samsung Health, but now I am unable to because of this...

Can anyone from Samsung advise about this?

Thanks,

Ziad

Hello Ziad,

I understand your concerns about sharing sensitive health data with third parties and foreign countries. It's great that you're being cautious about your personal information.

You might want to reach out directly to Samsung's customer support or privacy team for clarification on this matter. They should be able to provide more detailed information on how your data is used and whether there are any options to opt-out of sharing data with third parties while still using Samsung Health.

In the meantime, you could also check Samsung's privacy policy and data management guides on their official website for more insights.

I hope this helps, and I hope you can find a solution that works for you!

Best regards,

Thank you Zafar...

I did go over the privacy policy, but it's very confusing (I'm an Engineer, not a lawyer 🙂 ). I also sent an email to the privacy team...

It's really unfortunate and unacceptable to put customers in such a position: Either accept we share your private data or we delete your data, particularly that when I purchased the watch I did not have to make that choice. I certainly would not have bought a Samsung watch, and now I am stuck...
