So for something like a Samsung Odyssey G5 G51C, I'd need an HDMI to usb-c? USB b to c didn't seem to work for me.

Yeah suppose they are geared for gaming, I think you can use an old DeX HDMI dock @smiley does

Yes. Either an original old skool Samsung dock, or one of these type of adaptors. This will give you keyboard and mouse as well as HDMI.

I havent used this one particularly but i think it would work perfectly.

From this you could plug in hdmi to hdmi as well as USB peripherals.

The pass through power allows the phone to be powered and gives the required boost for the hdmi and USB devices.

But personally I still use this device... I bought this when I got an S8+ some 7 or 8 years ago !

It still works great has two USB A ports, HDMI, power, has a cooling fan built in, and acts as a phone stand.

Can still get these second hand on ebay for a budget price.

Essentially it is doing exactly the same as the hub that I put up above ⬆️
