Please add network speed indicator

I would greatly appreciate if network speed indicator was a built-in feature. 3-rd party apps are battery intensive and require to display a notification to run. For me it is very useful because: 

• I can control if any app is downloading content at any given time
• See what's the current speed of the network / service provider
• Control mobile data usage
• As a privacy feature to be assured that device has been cut off the internet
• etc.

I'm clueless as to why it cannot just be hidden in the developer settings
