Phone Time

I woke up this morning and my phone and watch are displaying the wrong time. It's 5 hours behind the actual time.

•Phone is a Z Fold 3

•Watch is a 4

•I'm in the UK, the phone has never been abroad.

•I've checked the date and time settings, all showing as they should.

•I did a basic restart, the time came back correct then changed straight after I unlocked the screen.

•I tried a safe mode reboot and that worked for about a minute, the clock showed in an orange colour then changed back to the purple colour with the wrong time.

•I did an update about a week ago.

Any ideas how to fix or if it's a Samsung issue?

Thanks🙂

UPDATE: I checked Google maps.. my phones location is apparently in Hickory in South Carolina! I've manually set the right time for now, I'll try and put it back on auto later today and see what happens🤞😂

2nd update: it reverted back to the wrong time zone. It seems to be an issue with the Weather app, it constantly says Hickory as the location. I've tried setting my actual location and deleting Hickory and have turned the auto timezone back on and so far it has stayed at the correct time.

Only time will tell if it stays correct....

UPDATE: it switched back to the wrong time again so I've deleted the last 10 apps I installed.. correct time is now showing once again👏👌 let's hope that is finally it fixed!

Nope.. still not fixed
I give up! 😫

Interesting, glad you found a fix, but wonder if when you swap back to Auto your back on Carolina, might be a GPS fault on the device.

I took it out of safe mode and it reverted back to the wrong time so I'm not sure if it's an app causing it or something else. But for now I will leave it as is.

Your phone gets the time and timezone from your network provider. Depending on where you are and cell towers, sometimes they get it wrong. "Set time zone based on location" means your phone will use gps to figure out where it is, instead of trusting what the cell towers tell it

Yep it's an app, you will need to identify the culprit, tricky if you have lots of app
