No respond when using Samsung Pay

I have my AMEX credit card (as default) and a HSBC visa debit card linked with my Flip 5, in Samsung Pay.

But in the past few days, when I tried to pay in a shop, scanned my fingerprint, app showing the countdown, tap my phone onto the scanner...no respond, no beep, no vibration, no msg, no alert, no respond, nothing at all. Tried input PIN to pay, app not responding (tapped, but nothing happened).

Then, the app starts performing a bit laggy. Try switching to the HSBC debit instead, still nothing happened. Couldnt pay at all.

This same situation happened twice in the weekend. And between these two attempts, I successfully paid twice in M&S with the default AMEX card and same samsung pay, so nothing wrong with my card.

What happened here?

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK Community Forum

As your Samsung Pay has worked then it will either be an issue with the bank or user error when presenting the device to the terminal.

Hi

Please check for any app updates in both Samsung and Google store.

Simply restart your phone.

See if doing the above helps.

You could try removing and then re adding your cards.
