The media Picker is an issue for me. Because it doesn't show any of the photos I've backed up in Onedrive like the Gallery Picker does.

I don't have the option to choose in many apps and I would just like to know how I can change this or remove it alltogether

I have a similar issue where it won't allow me to import an image into Ibis Paint X. It is quite frustrating because I can't access my custom brushes without importing the qr code

Forget Media Picker. Turn it off under Settings - Accounts and backup - Manage accounts - <login for your OneDrive account> - Sync account.

Just use Gallery Sync (Settings - Apps - Gallery - Gallery settings - Sync with OneDrive - Albums to sync.

Thanks for the good advice! Maybe you can tell me, when I setup Gallery to sync, how do I specify OneDrive to backup only, and leave originals where they are. I have backup turned off because it moved everything from my devices and computer, to some faraway cloud in the sky, making me very uncomfortable. tia

Sorry, I don't know of a way to use OneDrive for backup only. I prefer to use the sync function for the same reason I use IMAP for my e-mail. I use OneDrive on various platforms (iPad, PC and smartphone).  Using sync makes sure that the changes I make on one platform are also reflected on the others.  For example, I take way to many photos. Whenever I have time to weed some out, I can do so on whatever platform I'm using at the moment, and the photos I remove will be removed on the others as soon as I sync.  In the unlikely event that I change my mind (which hasn't yet happened), OneDrive keeps the deleted files in a trash folder for a month after they are deleted. BTW, "sync" doesn't *move* the files to the cloud, it *duplicates* them in the cloud.  The originals are still there on your smartphone and will remain there, unless you delete them there, in the cloud or on some other device with access to your OneDrive account.

Yeah, it's really annoying I can't use my default gallery app to import images for Ibis paint as well
