Long screenshot idea

Hey.

I messaged the Samsung FB account and they told me to post it here.

I had an idea for something to add into new phones.

Long screenshots.

So like you hold down the screenshot button and it records a video of your screen.

It would be really useful for tik tok content, or for streaming.

You could record a facetime with someone, or record an important bit of a meeting.

Android 12 can take long screenshots, so if you have One UI 4 on your device then you already have that feature unless Samsung have disabled it for some reason. I know it works on stock Android 12 though because I have used it to capture a discord chat 4 screens long

You're describing screen recording, not screenshots. And it already exists on Samsung phones. I have an S9+ which has screen recording as I recorded a clip from BBC iPlayer just the other day. I access it from a quick setting tile.

The phrase "long screenshots" sounds like the scroll capture feature which also exists in Samsung phones. Just take a screenshot and tap the down arrow on the popup toolbar. If you don't see the toolbar then you need to toggle the following setting: Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder > Screenshot toolbar.
