How to backup Gallery tags + favourite images?

Is there a way to backup the tagged/favourite images in Gallery? I'm asking because I once removed my SD card, and when I re-mounted it, all my favourites were gone forever. I'm using an S20 5G. Nobody here could help me recover the favourites. 

I've mostly gone back and found the images again, and I now have lots of 'tagged' images too. But I'm worried about losing this data again. 

Obviously, I could "select all" and copy the images to folders, but that's not ideal. Is there a way to back up or restore this info?

No, sorry. Gallery doesn't store anything. It just finds all photos and videos in your phone. If you remove or unmount and then mount the SD card, it scans again. The best bet is to use the Photos app to tag images.

Well that's a terrible way for it to run; all data from it can be lost and never recovered. But thanks for the help, I'll try using the Photos app from now on
