Eastman 81 gave the solution.
I turned off adguard , logged into Halifax ( wouldn't get off the Halifax start up screen till I had turned off my adblocker ) .
Once signed into Halifax you can then turn back on your adblocker and it works as before .

Yes. I am having the worst time trying to get into my halifax app. Neither phone nor tablet will work. The app works fine on my husbands phone so it isn't an app issue rather than something going on with Samsung. I don't have an ad blocker so can't turn that off. Any suggestion will be gratefully received
