So I've taken some amazing photos of the moon at 100x but just recently it's not focusing enough for a clear picture. Any advice? Photos of 100x last long verses last night....quite a difference. Thanks

When was pic 1 taken?
When was pic 2 taken?...

I think pic 2 was taken when it was still quite warm, and what's causing your issue is, quite simply...

HEAT HAZE.

It may well feel slightly cooler in the evenings, but surfaces are still hot later in the evening, and the heat is dissipating still, as you are taking the photo.

It would have been slightly cooler in Jun, with the possibility that there was a bit of rain that helped to cool the air. These past few days have been warm and clammy. Try taking a photo later this afternoon, perhaps of a flower in your garden. Hopefully, if we have a rainstorm to cool the temperature down, you can try photographing the same flower (if it is still in bloom), and compare the results. If the pics are replicated with the same focus issues, then I think heat haze is the answer to your issue.

Thank you! I will certainly do that.
