Basic Apps such as Call and contact app, User experience is getting poor. Recently helped my elderly parents try to understand and use the phone as easy as possible. But find myself struggling. 

Problems: Vast users requirements with some users requiring advance/customisation experience while some, such as elderly parents and child may opt for something simple. Elderly and child faces problems to touch and hold and swipe. As they are not as quick to respond and motion control is poor.

Example: The call app on a A7 Tab, requires user to make multi-touch command to work.

Answer call: Calls comes in with a small quarter-screensized popup,  Hold green call icon, swipe out of the bubble. Then app is lock before user can press the loudspeaker icon. So user has to double-tap quickly and quickly press the loudspeaker icon. (There is no option to customise the timing of the lock and the size of incoming calls to fullscreen permanently either.)

Why is the app minimize to a quartersized-popup icon instead of utilizing the full tab screen? Which is why the elderly purchase a tab as a phone for better viewing experience in the first place? So please don’t make app changes to what works simply. 

Solution 1: During phone first setup, Please have a page that ask user for simple(Senior) or advance user mode(Young - multi customisation). This will help your product cater to a vast target audience, without user facing frustration and just simply switch to iphone. Which has a very reliable call and contact feature all build into 1 app that doesn’t change much since 2007.

Solution 2: Please make incoming call simple. Fullscreen, sensor detects ear on phone to lock the screen or simply just have all incoming calls on loudspeaker upon answer, eliminating the need for user to double-tap to unlock, before pressing the loudspeaker icon, just to answer a call. While the user on the other end of the phone has waited without any response for over a minute and hangs up already from the samsung mobile user. 

Solution 3: Please integrate the call and contact into 1 seamless and easy to use app. With large Call, Contact, Number-pad icons at the bottom of the app.

I believe samsung devices have an easy mode that solves most of these issues.

That's what I heard. It makes almost every built-in app simple to use. It brings the phone to the most basic settings.
