@Bev54 Personally I do not think an Anti virus /other security app on Android is strictly necessary if you do not go outside official sources and are careful with websites you visit. some people do use VPN's though the free ones will not be of the same standard as the paid versions. Some information here https://www.kaspersky.co.uk/resource-center/threats/why-use-vpn-on-smartphone I am happy with the security protection provided by Knox and McAfee Anti Virus is on Board should you wish to use it. However opinions vary and you may wish to have a look at this thread for instance.
