Hi,
I am trying to play back HVEC (H.265) video's on my Samsung A53. However I seem to get severe artifacts (see image of barbie movie)
This makes the video's absolutely unwatchable.
I have tried the following players: Stock, VLC, Jellyfin and MX Player. I have tried from local storage, SD card and streaming. Several movies have been attempted (all tested movies have play back well on other devices such as TV and PC, H.264 movies play back fine). All attempted solutions lead to either severe artifacts or no playback at all.
When no playback is possible (for instance in Jellyfin), the following error message pops up:
If the video plays (for instance in VLC), there is no error message but I get the artifacts as shown before.
The phone uses the Exynos 1280 chipset, which as far as I know should support decoding of both 8-bit and 10-bit HVEC files. Yet I can't seem to get this to work.
How can I playback these, supposedly supported, files?
Kind regards,
Hidde
