Washer dryer isnt drying properly

We have this washer/dryer: WD90J6A10AW

After over 3 hrs of an appropriately sized load, clothes are still damp and it smells of damp when opening the door. Also LOTS of steam escapes when opening the door. Also towards the end of the cycle when it's on the last minute (number  1 on the digital display) this number stays on for ages like 10 mins. What could be the problem?

Half of the advice you gave me is irrelevant as I have a washer dryer combo, NOT just a dryer. So there is no lint filter for example. Please advise on my next steps.

is the machine emptying the water OK when washing? and when was the last time you checked the pump filter at the bottom of the washing machine?
