We have had a Samsung WWW8*J55**  for about a year and a few times the code 4C has come on for no reason. When we turn the machine off and then on it works as normal. It is getting annoying and we would be grateful for any ideas on how to stop it.

Thanks for the reply ,but we had already looked at that. The point is that this error code keeps appearing for no reason, is it an error in the software and is it known about, or do we just have to live with it?

We have been having the same problem with our machine and it seems to be a software fault. We have worked out that every time we put slightly more than our normal amount of towels in on the cotton cycle the 4C error comes up near the end of the cycle. It is nothing to do with the things Samsung says in its troubling shooting blurbs. To clear the error we have to switch the machine off at the mains and then on again after a few seconds. As you say it is really annoying and Samsung don't seem interested in doing anything about it.

Just had a similar episode, the alarm code is linked to "low water pressure" but reading the book it should be described more as "machine slow to fill" as it appears to link to a program timer which activates if the machine does not detect water level in a given time.  In our case we think the level detection device (probably a pressure switch) had become blocked and the water level was not being detected.  Running the cleaning cycle appears to have cleared the fault as 2 washes completed without the alarm.
