Samsung Ecobubble 8kg Washer rubber smell

I have had my Samsung Ecobubble 8kg washer for a week now and have already used it 5-6 times, however I seem to be getting quite a strong rubber smell from it. Is this normal for a new washer and will it eventually go?

Am I being slightly paranoid, as my last 2 washers were both brand new Hotpoint ones and both had the same strong rubber smell and both caught fire!!
