Randomly shattered oven glass door

I heard the strangest crackling sound as I was loading my dishwasher this morning, and discovered that the tempered glass of our oven door was slowly shattering! The oven wasn't even on, hadn't been on at all since the night before. I did have one of the cooktops on about 30 minutes before that, but I don't know how that could affect the oven door. The unit is less than 2 years old, we've never dealt with anything like this before. Can anyone steer me in the direction of how to repair this?

@Elisa788 This doesn't sound good. Are you able to provide a photo of this? When and where did you purchase the oven from? Has there been any physical damage?

Hi, Aaron. We purchased the oven on Dec. 31, 2021 from OLA Retail in North Olmsted, Ohio. We’ve LOVED this oven since we bought it and haven’t had any problems until now. The shattering appears to only be on the outside glass, and as it was crackling, I could see tiny pieces begin to fall from the edge, as you can see in the second picture. We aren’t aware of any damage that would have caused this, we had used the oven the night before with no issue, and I had used the stovetop about 30 minutes prior to this, also with no issue. Thank you for any assistance you can give us in figuring out our next steps!

@Elisa788  did Samsung resolve this for you? My oven door did the exact same thing and they told me since the part is not available to order and it was "cosmetic", they won't do anything further... I fail to see how it's cosmetic since it's broken glass and is preventing me from using the oven...

We experienced the same. Glas broke without reason, the oven was off and not used that day.

Not helpful! This is an ‘eu.community.samsung.com’ website. Change the name if you intend to help only Uk/IT residents. This kind of reply is customer aversive and creates great dissatisfaction.

I can understand your frustration, @Edward Schoofs, but the hyperlink for many websites including this isn't always a reflection of the region the webpage is based. If you're based in Italy, you can find the contact details for the Samsung Italy Support here: https://www.samsung.com/it/support/contact/
