New washing machine cant change cycle

I have a new washing machine 9kg & since its installation a few weeks ago i cant change the cycle from what it was on, when person installed it.  Is this usual? I cant find anything on threads or in manual!

That doesn't seem right, @Norahm. Have you tried switching off at the mains supply for a few minutes before switching back on?
