Cant recall but i think there is a function to turn off the turntable, my touch pad went so I jumped for the bigger 32" version, as repairs out of warranty where a nominal amount + how long is a piece of string.
I think OEMs should be forced by law to provide options, as all i can do is dispose of it, which is annoying as only the microwave and coming oven touch switches are faulty, the microwave can still be used with the dial.
