Microwave model MS23T5018AW/EE mute function doesn't work.

In the manual, the '' mute beep '' function is instructed as - holding down ''<'' and ''>'' at the same time.
Tried holding it for a prolonged or short time , beep stays.
Tried more combinations , beeps stays. 
Tried holding any button for a prolonged time (3s+) , beep stays , and no '' secret menu'' found.

I've got the same microwave and the same problem. It is not okay that the manual for this specific appliance states a feature that doesn't exist or work. This should exist, every microwave oven should have this. Why does it not work? Samsung staff help wanted!

Same problem. I'm audio sensitive. I bought this because I had already checked it could do that and it can't. Contacted support. Lots of "Do what it says in the manual" "I've done that" "Try it again" and eventually "Take it back to the store". Super helpful.
