Microwave does not cook

Hi,

Microwave makes normal noises but doesn't cook. Took apart and the transformer/capacitor on the top has the spade clip that connect to the controller board burnt off. Is the transformer at fault or could something else have caused it. New transformer is 100 quid so wanna be sure

The transformer thermo platting will have been the fault so by a new microwave cheaper

Sadly its a combi built in so hearly 600 quid but cheers for confirming that I can just change that part

What do you mean "transformer/capacitor" they are not the same thing. And what burnt off, a spade connector?
Can you try rephrasing the question

Looks like what I would call a transformer but sure I read summat about ensure capacitor should be discharged before doing anything with it ?? But yeah the link above is to a photo of the transformer that site on top of the microwave chamber and you can see the burnt out spade terminal.
