Issues with emergency drain hose

Hi we found water in the drum of our eco bubble washing machine/dryer so we tried to do the emergency drain. We followed the instructions to pull the hose out from the front of the washing machine. However the hose will only come out about an inch so we cant pull it out enough to put it above a bowl/container to collect the water in. Any advice?

We have exactly the same problem. The emergency drain hose is a terrible design. Not only does it slip back inside far too easily, it also doesn't allow you to pull it out far enough in the first place. So disappointing to see a simple design flaw in a Samsung product. We'll try the fix mentioned above - thanks

Better to tip the machine on its side, from the front towards the left, not onto the front of the machine.  You can then access the back panel and remove screws easier, and access the hose more easily to feed it to the FRONT of the machine, otherwise you will have to get someone to tilt it while you try to access the hole  at the front to try and pull it through.Trust me, this was from personal experience. It is extremely awkward as the hose at the back is not easy to fiddle with to get through the hole at the front. Tip for future...TAPE around the hose at the front so it can't fall down through the machine 'cos inevitably it will happen again. What a TERRIBLE design this is.

Any ideas how to get the draining hose back after it slipped back in? Ps we can't get anyone to come to the house to fix it?

You need to tip the machine and remove the base so that you can access the pipe - poor design, but easy to do - saves you the cost of an engineer, and gets it back working quickly. Just remove a few screws on the bottom and it drops away. Good luck, and keep safe in these difficult times.

the emergency drain pipe hose has fallen back into the machine , how do we get it out

We put some towels down for cushioning then laid the machine down on its front, removed the bottom panel and pushed the hose back through. It's a bit fiddly but it can be done

By gently putting the machine on its front or side, you can then remove the base plate by unscrewing. This gives you access to then get to the drain pipe hose and feed back through the hole in the front - we then put something around the end (hair tie/elastic band/tape) to stop it falling back through in future - very poor design!

We had exactly the same problem today. We removed the white filter cover using a sharp tug upwards in a slightly open position.  Carefully removed the black plastic insert, once removed this revealed a 2cm circular opening on the right hand side next to the drain tube hole. 

It is tricky but possible to insert your index finger into the hole to manoeuvre the drain tube back out of the smaller hole intended for the tube. 

It is is much easier to place the plug back into the drain tube if you pull the tube as far forward as possible and hold it with some long nose pliers.

You were fortunate that the tube was within reach - when this happened to us the force of the water pushed it all the way back - we tried fishing it our with wire but no luck... so we had to call the engineer. That is when we saw what he did, and how easy it was to gently drop it on its front or side and unscrew the base - cost us a bomb but lesson learnt! Stll though, a very poor design!

Sorry to hear that, it really is a poor design. My heart sank when the pipe disappeared!

Yes I think we were lucky to reach it without pulling out the machine.
