Issue with Emergency Drain Hose

Hi there, 

I located the Emergency Drain Hose to clean it out together with the filter however, I can't seem to pull it out far enough like how it is advise on the following link:

Can you please advise if it is meant to be like that? The water ended up dripping everywhere and I can't seem to clear it out effectively.

@mable: Please can you confirm the model number of your machine? Are there any error codes visible on the display?
