Heatpump dryer no reverse tumble?

I have a heat pump tumble dryer DV90T5240AW_WH

It's great the majority of the time, dries faster than I thought a heat pump would, is economical, clothes come out nice.

One issue so far, bedding, it gets wrapped up in itself, literally wraps itself up into a bundle and then it won't dry properly, and I end up keep taking it out, unwrapping the ball of duvet cover etc, putting it on again.

I've tried it on the cotton no2 cycle and the bedding cycle.

Does anyone know if there is a cycle on this dryer that does forward, then reverse tumble, as it's that that prevents this issue?

No there isn't. The drier only rotates clockwise when drying. A poor great design.

This is absolutely ridiculous! It's now winter, and I now have tumble dryer that will not dry bedding. As you say very poor design!

Well, I'd forgotten about this thread until someone else commented, but thought I'd update.

Some 18 months on, the reverse tumble feature being missing is still a pain, my daughter wanted a good tumble dryer, so I advised her to buy a cheap Beko, it had great reviews PLUS reverse tumble!

Mine though, I thought I'd bought good quality, but at a year old, after fighting the online support desk, I eventually got a Samsung technician out for my dryer not drying properly.  The technician was amazing to be fair much better than the online staff.  However I think he ended up replacing most of the dryer except the case, there were new circuit boards galore coming out and going in.  It does not fill me with confidence for the future!

Anyone looking for a good quality dryer, look at the Samsung, discount it, and buy a different make!

Hi, Yes I am actually on the phone to Samsung right now about this issue. Who makes a tumble drier that only dries clothes in one direction?? I have exactly the same problem with a bundle coming out and could never figure out why until I watched it during the main program. It tumbles in both directions to start with so, naturally I assumed it did so like 95% of other driers but no, this one then changes to one direction only.

If it can tumble in both directions to start with then it should be able to do so later in the program.

The customer rep just told me its designed to do this to prevent washing getting creased. If this is the case I will sell it and buy a different brand that tumbles in both directions. Samsung have made an error with this design as it doesn't save electricity if you have to keep re-running the program to dry clothes that have rolled themselves into a knot. Ridiculous.

going back to the old days of tumble dryers (lets say 90's for example) most tumble dryers only went in one direction through drying, then Bendix and i think Indesit and could be some others , brought out Tumble dryers that would revolve the drum in both directions , and boy did they capitalize on that new auto-reverse feature in all their advertising and marketing , quite rightly so saying that it stopped the clothes from tangling up in the drum (bed-sheets I am not too sure of because I have had sheets even bunch up on me even in dryers that have had auto reverse. But I suppose some designs of heat pump dryers simply cannot work if they went in both directions throughout the drying cycle. 
If you do a search if you are looking for heat-pump dryers that do (and I am pretty sure they must do) - put this into google search and it should tell you who's manufacturers dryers auto reverse through the cycle:

I think possibly the like of BOSCH do ones that have that facility
