The instruction book says it is strongly recommended to connect the water drainage to sink or drain but I am going to use it as is and let the water collect in the dryers own collection box.

What have other people done ? What have your experience been ?

I wouldn't do that, you're making extra work for yourself, is the machine nowhere near your sink or the waste water outlet for your washing machine?

@akthus: As the manual strongly recommends that you connect the drainage hose to your drainage system, it would be best to look into this as an option to avoid any potential issues. The manual recommends using the long drain hose accessory if the hose connected to the dryer is too short, and to only use the built in water tank if this action isn't possible.
