I have just bought an upright Samsung freezer and find that the motor / fan runs continuously. Its not particularly noisy and the temperatures remains okay at (19c) however i am concerned about the electricity usage. I have have called Samsung and the person I spoke to really had no idea why the unit should run continuously and put me on to their maintenance support company (Elite Digital Machines) and they were of no help either! I am am engineer myself and know a bit about refrigeration machines and have never seen a domestic fridge that was designed to run continuously, but stand to be corrected. Would be grateful for any advice.
