Conditioner

I have a water softening system installed in the home and on my old washing machine, never used any sort of conditioner and I always used a wash pod in drum.   Just bought a new Samsung 046 and wonder if this still applies, ie I need not dispense conditioner.   

I note some pods say they contain Lenor, so I suppose even then, no conditioner would be required.  I do two types of wash, sheets and towels and then the more delicate stuff.  Any advice or recommendations would be gratefully received...... a bit nervous of all the techie stuff - had the old one for 14 years.......

I would wash your clothes the same as you use to. Fabric conditioner is only really used to make your delicates or wools feel softer, or just leaves a nice freshness scent to your clothes. It has no benefit to the actual washing machine itself.
