Hello,

I'm looking for buying a new Samsung tumble dryer but, only space we can have it is to put it in a cupboard under the staircase. There's fuse boards and heating pipes are in it already.  Obviously there's no window or vent. I'm planning to have the door open while the dryer running.

Floor space : 2m x 1m

Height: between 1.8m - 0.8m

Just wondering if it's ok ? I am planning this because, I hear newer models with heat pump technology generates a lot less hot air and humidity.

Many thanks.

@TheShow: Because the dryer has a condenser, external ventilation is not required. Therefore, the dryer can be installed and used in any location where the temperature is between 5 and 35 degrees centigrade, unlike a conventional dryer that requires an external exhaust system.

However, to operate safely and properly, your new dryer requires minimum clearances of:

Sides – 25 mm

Rear – 51 mm

Top – 25 mm

Front – 470 mm

In addition it would be better if you can site it next to a sink or washing machine drain pipe to plumb the drainage pipe for the condenser in. Otherwise you'll be emptying the storage tank quite often
