Auto dose washing machine not cleaning clothes

I bought an autodose 9 months ago and am continually finding clothes come out of the machine not clean/or smelly. Smelly as in not been cleaned rather than left in a machine too long. 

I’ve stopped using the quick wash and try to choose an appropriate setting for the items. 

Any suggestions appreciated

Do the drum clean cycle then you should start to leave the door open and you can increase or decrease the amount of detergent or softener in the settings
