I have recently bought the Samsung Z flip 6 and understand Samsung messages has been done away with 😔 i have downloaded the Samsung messages app and can still use it but there is a character limit and won't switch to MMS to allow more characters. They only way to send a longer message is via Google messages which I don't really get on with. Has anyone found a way to still use Samsung messages and have unlimited characters? Thanks in advance ☺️

OK... so I have downloaded Google messages, not really changed any settings in Samsung messages and randomly it has started to work again! Not sure how or why this has changed but it seems to have sorted itself out 🤷🏼‍♀️ thanks for your help folks!!

Hi, and welcome to the UK community

I thought this was only confined to units purchased in the USA?

Where are you based?

BTW Samsung Messages no longer supports RCS so you may be limited in what you can send/receive. Your message may get sent as a MMS if set up accordingly. Turn the chat feature off.

Samsung somehow decided not to pre installed the app on the Z Flip 6 and Fold 6. According to Pcmag.

Yes, your links are correct, however, this move is only confined to the US market for now.

Then you should have no problem with Samsung messages. AFAIK UI 6.1.1 still carries the Samsung Messages app with no restrictions. However, please feed this back to Samsung via your Samsung members app. Just head to the Support section and tap on Ask questions

It's to do with RCS chat features. Samsung Messages no longer supports RCS.
Google Messages still supports RCS and may even eventually replace Samsung messages here in the UK.
