Hi,

I work between the US and the UK, wanted to upgrade from the flip 3 (UK spec) to the 5 (US spec) and was hoping that my UK carrier/network will work fine when I return back home.

The flip 5 is an unlocked US handset.
I was just wondering if there would be any further types of region locking on samsungs side I would need to consider before keeping the phone?
Thanks for your help!

Hi @halcxyon

If you've used the phone in the US i.e the origin where it was supplied then any relevant region lock will be removed.

It's my thoughts that Samsung don't apply region locks as they used to.

The only issue maybe that 5G may not work properly and your phone will not be supported in regards to the manufacturing warranty.

The phone itself will have the bands and frequencies built into it to enable for it to connect to UK Networks.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
