Anyone else being shafted by Samsung?

Both of my Fold 4 phones have screens where the film has lifted. A scratch on the bottom of one phone, that is honestly nowhere near the lifting was enough for them to invalidate the warranty. Both phones under a year old. I am SO disappointed. It surely cat just be me?

This is a MAJOR FLAW in the phone. One Samsung knows about. This is supposed to be it's main feature. For the cost, this is shoddy and is sub standard.

Do not be fooled by the glossy advertising!

Hazard of being on the cutting edge.. they're expensive because they're hard to make and hard to fix. They have their problems but not enough for Samsung not to release.. billion dollar rockets blow up, planes crash, cars get broken into, expensive stuff still has its weak points. For reliability, durability, ease of repair etc, stick to the Galaxy S or A series.

Hi @missydb

I'm sorry to hear you've experienced issues with your phone's.

Obviously we can't see the engineers report on Samsungs internal systems so cannot comment on why they have declined a free repair under the warranty.

I assume it's listed as accidental damage.

The inner screen protector delaminated on my Samsung Fold³. I chose to carefully peel away this tpu screen protector and used the phone without one.

I looked at 3rd party accessories manufacturers to fit a new one but ended up deciding not to. Entirely my choice.

You could ask Samsung Customer Services to reassess the phone with a view to repair.

Have Samsung provided a costing to carry out the work ?

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care.  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Don't think I'd ever go for a folding screen, it's just too risky with the screen, it has to be the weakest point...is it an idea too far for phones?
Personally I don't see how a folding screen can ever be successful long term 😞

I wouldn't buy a folding phone either, anything that does fold will eventually go and break. Samsung don't care as long as people buy them, they know that they will so aren't bothered. The care they provide is appalling.

Apologies if you mean the screen but if you mean just the screen protector yes it crumbles over time but both my Flip and older fold 3 were repaired free at Samsung London Kings Cross. They told me I could get one free repair each even out of warranty as it was a common issue.

Samsung apply the cheapest, nastiest, rubbish screen protectors, even their front screen aftermarket one is dire.

Buy a Whitestone IF they do one for the ZFOLD4, I have used them on a ZFLIP3, they are proper premium.

You could argue to toss and waste time, energy with a Samsung repair, most centres want you to wipe the device, if you have one nearby that will, best by a Whitestone off Amazon and DIY.
