Hi. I downloaded a nice theme for my Z Fold 3 but notice that it does not work on some of the apps like the dialer, messenger and in the pull down quick settings. I have discovered that it is due to me using the dark mode. This is very disappointing to me as I do not want to give up dark mode. Is there a way round this?

Try changing
The Dark Mode settings

(Settings>Display>Dark Mode Settings) to "Light"

Well if I do it won't be dark mode anymore. I do not wish to give up dark mode.

Does it not work with the dark theme if change to light

If I change it to light then it works but then it is not dark mode anymore.

Try going settings Display
And change to dark

I have already stated that the theme does not work fully when on dark mode. That is the issue.

I've seen this issue before on other Samsung phones too when Dark Mode was first introduced. 

Unfortunately it's a caveat on using Dark Mode that the setting can clash with some themes and apps.

The creators of the Theme can usually be contacted via their information in their theme and then can be asked if they can look at updating their theme or they'll advise it just won't work with Dark Mode.

I'm in no way a theme or app creator in any sense but I'm assuming that coding an app or theme to work with both light mode and Dark Mode is more involved.

I came across this clash when looking at themes on a previous Samsung and then finding Dark Mode didn't want go play ball with it.

That's when threads started popping up on the Samsung Forum and other forums of thus issue.

Some themes worked fine and some didn't.

That instigated more posts from people discussing which particular theme worked, and which didn't.

Personally I now stick with the default theme.

You could look at Icon Packs, wallpapers to spice things up or spend sometime trying out other themes to find one that plays nice.

Samsung Goodlock and its plug ins may change up some aspects of the phone similar to your theme.

Launchers such as Nova Prime can too.
