Can anyone tell me how to turn off the inbuilt app so I send SMS without having to in into settings to turn it to SMS I have the flip phone

Are you referring to chat features?
If so you can go into settings - connections - more connections settings and toggle off rich communications. Or open messages tap the 3 dots, click on settings - chat settings - toggle chat feature off.

Many thanks managed to speak to someone in tech services and he fixed via the remote so fingers crossed but am grateful to you for your advice
