Samsung ZFold4 Dropped - Advice on claims and upgrading

From a height of 2 metres whilst taking a photo, mobile is commando with a teardown skin, I managed to jump down and use my footie skills to minimise the drop to maybe 30cm.

Sadly even from such a pitiful height the bottom corner and back glass slightly shattered and the top right dented, the camera was fine, lots of fine scratches on the cover screen (protector).

I have the supposed super Samsung Plus protection via Assurant, but claim site is pretty useless allowing only one selection for area damaged.

Question, has anyone used this service and some actual experience?

So far I need to pay £150 excess and drop it off the Samsung.

My concern is my ZFOLD3 experience was via TMT First, a total disaster, no communication, no detail on timing (3 weeks eventually) and told nothing about what was repaired (cover screen kept switching off), finally told no fault found and the issue upon first boot up was still present.

Other question, I plan to upgrade to the ZFOLD5 in July, would they accept an item with such damage?

Ouch.

I never have my phone naked just incase !

I don't use Samsung Care+ etc so can't comment I'm afraid. 

I have my phone's covered on my Household Contents Insurance.

As for trading in a phone there is a particular set of criteria for the phone to meet when being assessed by Samsung.

Thank-you, I checked not damaged is a pretty broad term.
I might buy a stop gap handset, as last time I gave my ZFold3 for repair I used an old iPhone 6s, it was ***** painful

I think it was funny, as I quickly picked it up and put it in my pocket (the embarrassment 😳), when I checked it a little later, sure the people near me where confused with the teardown skin, probably thinking I smashed the whole rear and insides had spilled out 🤣

I got home, cleaned it, removed the skin, attached 3 cases one after another, in and end removed them all.

Commando is the way, but when you drop it 😭

I had no issues using assurant to replace my folding screen that I dropped and damaged , they even replaced both batteries , it was back in about 10 days
