Samsung Fold Battery life

I've had the Fold for about 6 weeks, I do a full charge overnight then by 1pm its nearly dead. I take about an hours worth of calls over that time, browse socials for half hour or so may use maps for 30 mins. From 15% to flat I get about 15 mins. Has anyone else had this or could it be a dodgy battery. When I charge it in my car and I'm using maps it doesn't go up hardly. I think maybe 3% over an hour journey. Sometimes it's died whilst been on charge in my car!!

Mine is not bad.
Have you gone into your battery settings and seen what is using the battery a lot.
Everyone's usage is different, but I still get a full day out of mine.
Do you have any background apps running that is causing the battery drain
I find that regularly restarting the phone helps. I do this with all my phones, gives it a kind of reset.
Maybe also try clearing the phones cashe might help

Thanks, good advice, I'll try. I've even tried turning Bluetooth and location off just to buy more time. I'll clear cache.

Hi @JsSigma

Battery life is a subjective topic as we all set up our phones differently and use it differently.

What is your network connection like ?

I ask because if it's not particularly strong then because the phone is working harder go maintain connection this can drain the battery.

Also turn Off Wifi scanning as this uses a chunk of battery.

I adjust my location accuracy.

In your phones connection settings choose 4G/ 3G/2G if it's set to 5G/4G/3G because if the phone is searching for 5G this can drain lots of battery too.

I also make use of the following battery saving methods.

  1. Sleep Apps options.
  2. Deep Sleep Apps option.
  3. Set screen timeout to 2 minutes.
  4. I turn Off auto screen brightness.
  5. Dark Mode.
  6. Look at how often your phone syncs.
  7. I don't use Apk files.
  8. Look at any app that uses location services in Settings, Apps, Choose an app and look at the preferences.
  9. Dark Wallpapers.
  10. Always On Display is set to Tap to Show.

I have a thread discussing my thoughts and opinions about my Fold 3.

Here > Samsung-z-fold 3-my-first-thoughts-and-impressions.

I don't game on my phone.

I power up at 5am and power down at 9pm and typically have around 50% to 70% battery left, however I'm working through the day so my usage maybe less than yours as I periodically check incoming texts and emails and then use the phone in my lunch hour and then from around 6pm to 9pm when I'm home from work.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Show us your battery stats makes it easier to help
I would suggest it's down to poor network connectivity
I don't have any battery saving features on and average 5.5-6hrs SOT
Only thing I don't use is always on display and have network to 4g/3g/2g
Good luck
I would boot to recovery and clear cache also 2 times
