Open with

When you clicked on a document from, for example, an email, you used to get an Open With box which allowed you to select locations such as Drive or Samsung Notes. Now the box just contains my printer which means I can only print documents but not open them to read them. Any suggestions how to fix this

It really depends on file type you're attempting to open. If you know the file extension type, it should show a list of relevant applications capable of displaying or using that file, unless you have selected a default app to open it with. Can you be more specific of the file type extension it is you wish to open?

It's a word document file extension docx

Try going to Settings>Apps and selecting the apps you know to open the files, like Drive or Samsung Notes and deleting their cache data. Also check that under defaults "Set as defaults" is enabled.
