My Galaxy Z Flip 4 keeps shutting down when folded and often suddenly shut down

Hi,

Need help if anyone have the same issue and able to solve this. 

I have just passed a couple weeks from 1 year of using this Z Flip 4, and suddenly my phone keeps randomly shut down and cannot be turned on without giving bait by charging it first. 

Then if it already turns on, either it can suddenly shut down or if folded, it will shut down.

It's really bothersome as this is my main phone. I hope that I won't have to spend much to fix it.

Mine too, they mentioned changing the battery, I dont know about motherboard but I suspect it.

Did you take it for assessment? You have to take it for assessment first

I have exactly the same problem. Brought it to a samsung authorized center and an LCD replacement is needed. They will charging P25,194.23. Did not push with the repair since its already not economical when you can buy a brand new flip 4 for P36,000.00. Pakyasa!

Is it out of warranty?

Yes. Just 2 months after my 1 year warranty period ended.

I'm having same problem everytime u fold my phone it shuts down only started today haven't done anything for this to happen always take care of my phones

Hi,

I finally went to Samsung last week, after not caring about this phone for more than 2 months just to make sure that I am ready to reset all datas. Samsung service center changed some parts (flexible, battery, screen layer, but was informed that the main problem is the flexible (not sure if the name is it in English). It costs me in IDR equal to around US$140 (initially they estimated that it would be around US$300).  And it took only a few days for it to be fixed with 3 months guarantee.

When I complained about how this Flip type is such a wreck, they did say that flip or fold type need to be extra care, best to use the soft case and not to have hard pressure on the screen, so not to also put the phone in a tight bag space. 

Seeing all the comments here, it seems that this phone has one year+ durability ;( But the solution is to pay to the service center. Well hope it helps
