Frightened to use my Fold4

Can I start but saying that I love Samsung and much of my home is made up of their product. Also that my situation is probably quite rare.
I have a Fold4 and love everything accept for the fact that the foldable screen has broken twice now.
Bought end of August 2022, by December 2022 I felt a slight crackle in the phone as I unfolded it. I noticed a black line down the crease and the touch had gone.
Samsung were supportive and I had my phone repaired under Warranty by a trusted 3rd Party.
However, a week ago, still in perfect condition, it happened again, exactly the same crackle and break.
Once again, it was collected and repaired under Warranty.
I have a feeling that the problem lies deeper, possibly the hinge, and am now frightened to unfold the screen incase it happens again after the Warranty runs out or Samsung simply decide not to repair it.

I am at a stage where I would happily trade it for a normal, non foldable Galaxy S series, but even a downgrade would cost me more.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello @IronAxe

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you've encountered with your Fold⁴ phone. 😔

You certainly shouldn't be " frightened  " to use your phone.

I can appreciate because of the two instances that you may have lost a bit of confidence in the phone, but try to be positive and continue to use the phone as normal.

The factory fitted screen protector delaminated on my Fold³ which I peeled away so I understand how you feel from my own personal experience.

I appreciate my instance is a little different as my phone continues to work as normal.

Your phone has a 24 month Manufacturers Warranty so take confidence in that.

You do have the option to sell your Fold⁴ to then use the funds to buy another phone, however the key is getting a good price for the phone.

Don't use selling sites or Highstreet Stores that specialise in buying used phone's as they don't tend to give the best price as they want to make a profit in buying and selling, and selling sites do have the danger of being scammed.

Samsung do at time's offer trade in deals as do some Networks however pay attention to what is offered.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care.  😎

Thanks for your reply, I actually thought the Warranty was just 12months, so this information was very useful.
However, what still bothers me is that whether a product is repaired or not, its always the consumer that is out of pocket...
Trade-in, Consumer has to pay extra, even to downgrade.
Sell, Consumer loses value.
Warranty repair, Consumer loses "time".
In my case, all of the above plus fear to use the full functionality of a product.
I may be wrong but it seems like in one way or another, the Consumer always has to pay for a manufacturing fault.

@IronAxe

The Samsung warranty for the EU/UK on smartphones is indeed 24 months.

See their warranty information, here...

You're very welcome @IronAxe

Yes the phone has a 24 month Manufacturers Warranty.

It can be difficult to find the right way to sell or trade in a phone to obtain the best return I agree.

Hopefully you can get past your gear of using the phone and enjoy what it has to offer.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care.  😎
