The Samsung Fold³ I owned for a year faired well in regards to the hinge and I used a case to help stop scratches etc.
Samsung would not repair a phone for free under the Limited 2 Year Manufacturing Warranty if the phone was assessed, and found to have suffered accidental damage.
Typically the phone would need to be brought back to Warranty standards before a repair can be carried out.
Samsung Care+ or insurance via other means is a good idea to cover the phone for accidental damage and or theft.
In some countries Banks provide cover as a perk of the account.
