Can't add contacts

I am trying to add some contacts to my phone but it just keeps coming up with "can't add contacts in read only format" I've tried looking this up online but nothing is working.

Have you rebooted your phone??

Have you tried saving contacts to either your Google or Samsung account, rather than just your phone?

You could try finding your contacts app,
1. press and hold it, a bubble should pop up, in the upper right corner you should see a small (i),

2. click that it will open the contacts app properties,

3. scroll to storage and clear data.

It may sort your problem out.

@trickybix13: If the issue persists following the steps above, then please restart your phone in Safe Mode, and attempt to add a contact. To enter Safe Mode, press and hold the Power button until the 'Power off' prompt appears on the screen then release > Touch and hold Power off until the 'Safe mode' prompt appears then release > To confirm, tap Safe mode.

Once in Safe Mode, try to add the relevant contact. If you're able to proceed as expected then please restart the phone as you would normally, and you should hopefully be able to add any further contacts without restriction. Let me know how you get on.
