I took my cell after the update and reconiced that my battery life is going fast away. First I where thinking is about updating all apps and so on. But no f..... way, even after over a day. Still my cell uses battery for laying on the side and display is off!!!. Took my cell at 8am away from the charger, 3 house later I am at 75% battery life. I only was using it for 20min other then it was laying on the side and no one touched it. Before the update I used not even over half the battery in a full day, even with playing for like 1 to 2 hours. Now I just can look for the next plugin to f....  charge again. I am very very disappointed and wanna have that problem from Samsung very fast fixed. I am sure many many people have the same problem. Also many themes are not compatible with the calendar, white background and white written day's are not possible to see. I need the calendar for work and it's a very important part for me.

Please fix your issue as soon as possible

After a major update it takes some time until the battery usage is optimalised again, it might also be the case that you have to calibrate your battery again (Fully charge it once, and let it flow empty).

Custom themes have to be updated by their developers.

So I tried all like you told me. Let it get drained and it shut off on his own. Now I took a few days and still less, definitely less stand by and use then before the new ui one

Some suggestions?

I'm willing to try still but I'm not happy at all. Need all day my charger on me and I dont like that at all! Miss the time where had to charge ones a week lol

Some people have had issues with their chosen theme that worked fine before the update @Stevie_21  and as such I'm sure some have contacted the developer of the theme to advise.

Some have found interim themes that do display everything ok.

Some have reverted back to the stock Samsung theme.

Can you put your phone in Safe Mode which disables your downloaded apps and leaves the stock ones working and see how battery fairs then.

Some have found issues with apps such as Clean Master as one example.

Check in your phones settings section for your battery stats to see if anything ja being highlighted as a large % drain.

A Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre can run a diagnostic test on the battery for you too.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
