Please fix this samsung. It is PATHETIC
I have to unlock my phone constantly when I'm home. I've set many safe locations where my phone should be unlocked, yet this rubbish feature doesn't work.
I've reset cache, data, cleared all safe spots, started again, nothing doing. Useless ..
Same issue here - had it far a long time with S8 (though it worked initially) and just upgraded to Note 10 Lite - no issues for 4 days and now for no particular reason I can see, it doesn't work any more.
I have smartlock for front of house, back of house (99% overlap but there it is) , near my bluetooth headset, near my laptop - and I still have to enter my pattern.
Turning trusted agents off, rebooting and on again doesn't work for me.
Biker74 Explorer ... denying that others are having problems is not helpful. I found this thread while googling why the Smart Lock feature of my S10+ was also not working and I suspect I'm one of the "thousands". I found your reply annoyingly useless and taking up thread space.
I fixed my issue by following later useful replies of actually turning off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Scanning. None of the other options worked.
Now I'm going to re-install Samsung Pay as I like that app and it seems to be to be a dumb solution to remove one Samsung app to get another Samsung app working.
If you're not going to post something useful, then please just don't post.
SmartLock has never worked for me. I have a Note 10+ and a Tab S6 setup with 'smartlock' for my home location with multiple Bluetooth devices (including a Gear S3 frontier- which should always be connected to my phone) and it locks EVERY time the screen goes off. I have tried dozens of tips to resolve with no luck; app permissions, high accuracy GPS, etc. Also- face unlock works 20% of the time for either device, and fingerprint usually requires 2-3 retries.
My solution: I disabled all the useless 'security' and went back to 'swipe screen'.
'SmartLock' is an abysmal failure by Samsung.
And look at this incredible advice from a website!!
They say to remove all other Google accounts because Samsung hast bothered to update Trusted Places to specify a specific Google account! How incredibly archaic!! Samsung fix your trash programs already! MOST of us tie in multiple Google accounts to our phones for convenience. So telling us to remove all but one Google account is like telling Boeing to remove all but one airplane engine! WTF?!?! What utter GARBAGE. Here it is, the year 2021 and Samsung still hasn't even bothered to resolve this!
"Smart Lock doesn't let you choose which account to use with its features, so if you're signed in with multiple Google accounts on the same phone, it could be pulling location data from the wrong account. There's also the wrinkle of G Suite accounts or "Google Apps" accounts — many of these will outright disallow Smart Lock features, depending on your account administrator's settings." -- from https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/10-troubleshooting-steps-fix-smart-lock-trusted-places-any-an...
