Why has the option for Single tap to answer a phone call been removed in the One UI update?
This was one of the better features on the S9, but has now gone.
Please bring it back.

I am having the same problem. It is SO ANNOYING to swipe to answer. Why would the single touch setting be taken away!?

I completely agree it's a nightmare with having the swipe for the call. Sometimes I even end up cutting people off. I have no idea what Samsungs thought process was when changing it as it's horrendous!!! 😞 😞
I really think they should address this for the next update as a matter of urgency.

This is absolutely awful. Who thought of that? Did consumers actually ask for this to happen? Oh my goodness.

There is an option in the settings SINGLE TAP TO ANSWER . but it comes with an asistant that stays on your screen always
I have put it and is annoying to keep on moving that stupid assistant on the screen. But I prefer that to siping to answer

Thanks Stefan, I will give this a go. Surely it can't be any worse having an assistance than that ***** swiping!

Settings>Accessibility>Interaction & Dexterity>Assistant Menu (toggle on)>Single Tap to Swipe (toggle on).
That places a floaty menu that you can't turn off, so then set Transparency to max, tap Assistant Menu Options, remove everything but one option and it will turn into a floating button with that function (I chose home) and then drag it to an unused corner and forget it's there.
It used to have it's own option, but yesterday's update (AT&T) added the dumb floaty menu that you can't turn off if you want Tap to Swipe.

Yeah, but it comes back as soon as you unlock your phone again. It's the dumbest thing about it.

Yes, it is so annoying. I had disabled swipe on all our previous samsung devices, for obvious reasons. I've spent weeks after the update trying to find the option on both our S9 phones, only now to find it gone, what a stupid update.

I don't want to use the volume button to answer calls...I preferred the other method of one tap to answer calls as well as to dismiss the alarm clock. This new update is very restrictive. Most Samsung users like myself enjoy the freedom of customizing our phones to our personal preferences. If I wanted a bunch of restrictions in customization I would have bought an iPhone. I do not like updates that make me feel like I'm using an iPhone. I have been using Samsung phone since the very first Galaxy and have never been so unhappy as I am with this new update. It also changed the camera layout and functions which is more frustrating than this one touch issue.
