Galaxy S9 Seriesi've recently updated my S9 to android pie + one UI
1.when i swipe up (new navigation bar) to recent apps, in horizontal view it always...go in to recent apps tab view -> wait awhile then switch to vertical view..which is very delaying + slowing down the movement and annoying...like when im at a full view horizontal game and i decided to go to recent apps view i swipe up to recent apps, it goes from horizontal view to vertical view not instantly but delay and turn.
2. recent apps button after u swipe up or click, it always go to the recent apps view but in a second it will move to the last apps i used which i only wanted to see the recent apps not samsung helping me to 1.go recent apps 2.move to the last apps used (please note it does nt go into the apps just showing the last used apps view in recent apps tab view) 3.i need to swipe my screeen left to move back to the apps im using to close it..very annoying
3.the fingerprint reader reaction got slowed down, the whole ui got slowed down..

@WonderfullyMade wrote:This is really irritating. So many things going wrong with my S9+ since the update. I get a pop up every few mins saying "Setting Stopped working" The battery that customarily lasts me from 12 to 14 hours, is draining in 4... wtf? Um also getting all kinds of apps just bug out or freeze including the screen. This update has been but a headache and I can't find a way to uninstall it.
Someone suggested here factory resetting the phone, so I also fid that with no good outcome. Still the same issues. Samsung needs to release a patch ASAP, I'm about to smash this phone out of frustration
Check the battery to see what apps have been using the most, could be a rogue app causing the problems.

Galaxy S9 SeriesAs mentioned in my previous post clearing the Cache Partition fixed all the problems I was having after the update.
See the section under the heading "Clear the cache partition".
It has been over a week since I cleared the partition and the phone has been working like it did when new. I am no longer having app update issues and the Bluetooth is working as expected.
Just follow the instructions on the page - it does not take long.

Galaxy S9 SeriesI'm not having an update problem. The phone updated and that's the problem. Since it installed all I get is pop up screens with errors. The battery lost about 10 hrs of charge going from lasting 12 to 14 hours to draining in 4. Apps constantly crash and even the screen freezes constantly.
I still ran the wipe cache partition and as soon as it rebooted, a popup came up with "Settings App Keeps Crashing" 🤦♀️

Galaxy S9 SeriesTook me about 8 hours but was able to get back my OREO using odin and the sammobile flash files. Most of my settings gone but was able to save my data.. Amazing thing is it's like a new phone, fast, and the firmware on the sammobile site was a better version of oreo somehow I'm getting all these new cool options I didn't even know about!
I swear, downgrading to OREO is like actually upgrading the phone! I have a note 8 korean KT Emperor Edition 256GB internal.

Galaxy S9 SeriesIt's good ain't it?
I got the updates for pie plus patches but then reinstalled oreo, updated again a bit later because I like to be sure and give these things a proper go. After that I knew for sure I much preferred oreo so once again reinstalled it. Happy days.
Don't forget to turn off auto update in developer settings

Galaxy S9 SeriesI totally agree. This is not the device that I spent my money on. This is more like a bait and switch tactic. Security updates are one thing but Samsung ***** near changed our entire device. Featured and all. So yes, I wanna sue them too. These devices are to expensive to have them look and operate how the next person think is fit. We test these devices before we buy them, so we know exactly what we're getting. This particular update changed the entire phone. Features and all. I want my money or the phone that I purchased. I purchased this phone for features that no longer exist. (Bait and switch)

Galaxy S9 SeriesI have a different model (A8 Star- for the Asian markets. you won't find it in Americas or Europe) but yes, the pie update ruined my phone too. The Soc is SD660 and 6GB of RAM so hardware isn't the problem. Oreo ran perfectly. Factory resetting/cache wiping etc did not make any difference to the lagginess of Pie. It would work well for a couple of days and then start extreme lag again. The only solution was flashing Oreo with Odin. Knox didn't intefere with anything...the phone is back to Oreo now and works very well, although Swipe To Capture doesn't work after Odin flash for some reason. Odd. Anyway, my point is that this is a universal problems with Pie. Even OnePlus and Pixel users are having the same issues. Google messed up big this time. I really hope Google/Samung releases a bug fix for OneUI so that we can get the latest updates without rendering our phones useless.

Galaxy S9 SeriesPie actually ran smooth on my S9 but just preferred oreo. But I have seen plenty of other people having a load of grief including friends.
Android 10 is due out soon though, hopefully it'll be decent
