S9 suddenly stopped connecting to Chromecast

Hi All

My S9 has suddenly stopped connecting to Chromecast. In various apps like YouTube, netflix etc the cast button is greyed out or the chromecast can't be found.

I have a Samsung Tab A on the same network and that can cast fine to my chromecast so it's definitely something wrong with my S9.

I've cleared cache in all the casting apps.
Rebooted my chromecast, phone and router.
Uninstalled and reinstalled all the casting apps.

But nothing fixes it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

If your Google Chromecast streaming device isn't working you can try the following to fix the issue:

Make sure your Chromecast is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your mobile device
Use the HDMI extender cable that came with your Chromecast
Reset your Chromecast device
Reset your modem or router
Move your router closer to your Chromecast
Make sure you're running your Chromecast on a 2.4GHz network frequency
Update your router's firmware, if needed
Adjust your router's channels
Upgrade your internet plan to ensure your network can handle streaming

Hi,

I've tried all those suggestions, but it still doesn't cast anymore.

As mentioned my tab a does so the issue is with the phone.

Is there a certain connection app/driver that is used by the phone to cast as I'm wondering if its become corrupt after the latest ota update?

That latest ota update has caused my phone numerous issues that Samsung doesn't seem to want to acknowledge

I've tried another chromecast and the same issue, my s9 can't find it but my Tab A can.

Defo a problem with the S9 rather than chromecast

I've been onto Samsung support but they don't seem to be able to fix it. Strange how it stopped working after their update to my s9.

Is anyone else having the same issue?
