I got my S9 DUOS phone in the Netherlands. I bought it at the belsimpel company and I use it with the KPN which is a Dutch provider. I made quite some local calls in the Netherlands to Dutch telephone numbers. So I should have been disabling this very customer unfriendly region lock many times over.
Unfortuately, while being in Thailand and purchasing a local AIS sim card, my phone turns out to be still in region lock. I need an unlock code which I don't have....
I do have an older Samsung phone. An S7. The Thai AIS sim card works perfectly well with this phone so the sim card is 100% OK.
I am not at all happy with this situation which has costed my mood, money and time. Maybe, Samsung Support it's time to show what you are made of.
